The Enphase IQ EV Charger 2 is an advanced smart home EV charging solution designed to intelligently integrate electric vehicle charging with household energy consumption, electricity tariffs and solar generation.
Available in single-phase and three-phase configurations, the IQ EV Charger 2 combines robust EV charging hardware with Enphase’s intelligent energy-management platform. When integrated with an Enphase Energy System, it can optimise EV charging around electricity tariffs and available excess solar production, helping homeowners increase solar self-consumption and reduce the cost of charging their vehicle.
Depending on the selected model and electrical supply, the IQ EV Charger 2 platform is available for both single-phase and three-phase installations.
The supplied datasheet specifically documents the single-phase tethered version, which provides:
Up to 7.4kW charging power
230V nominal voltage
Up to 32A output
Configurable charging current from 6A to 32A
7.5m tethered Type 2 charging cable
Note: the supplied datasheet only provides the detailed electrical specifications for the 7.4kW single-phase UK model. I would not publish a specific three-phase output such as 11kW or 22kW against ENPIQ-EVSE-EU-3032 until we have the applicable EU/Australian three-phase datasheet.
One of the major advantages of the IQ EV Charger 2 is its ability to work as part of the wider Enphase Energy System.
When integrated with compatible Enphase solar equipment, the charger can use excess solar production to charge the EV rather than exporting that energy to the grid.
Smart scheduling can also optimise charging according to electricity tariff rates and available excess solar power.
This makes the IQ EV Charger 2 particularly attractive for homeowners who already have, or are planning to install, an Enphase solar energy system.
The IQ EV Charger 2 supports dynamic load balancing, automatically adjusting EV charging power according to household electricity consumption.
This helps prevent the total household load from exceeding the property's contracted per-phase power or fuse rating.
By intelligently reducing EV charging power when household demand increases, the system can help protect the home's electrical supply and potentially avoid expensive electrical upgrades.
EV charging can be intelligently controlled through the Enphase App.
Available functionality includes:
Remote charging start and stop
Smart charging schedules
Time-of-Use based charging
Access control
Solar-optimised charging
Charging session authentication
Energy consumption monitoring
This gives homeowners greater control over when and how their EV is charged.
The IQ EV Charger 2 incorporates a Class B certified MID meter with ±1% metering accuracy.
The integrated metering system can display:
Voltage
Charging current
EV charging energy consumption in kWh
Accurate integrated metering can also assist with usage tracking and charging reimbursements.
The IQ EV Charger 2 is compatible with Type 2 electric vehicles and the tethered version includes a generous 7.5m Type 2 charging cable.
The longer cable provides greater flexibility when positioning the charger in garages, carports and driveways and makes it easier to reach vehicles with charge ports located in different positions.
The IQ EV Charger 2 provides extensive connectivity options for integration and smart-energy management.
Connectivity includes:
2.4GHz and 5GHz Wi-Fi
Wi-Fi 6 / 802.11ax
Bluetooth 5.3 / BLE
Ethernet
RS-485
CAN
ISO 15118 hardware ready
OCPP 2.0.1
API integration support
The support for OCPP 2.0.1 also provides additional flexibility for integration with compatible charging and energy-management platforms.
Enphase has incorporated multiple electrical and thermal safety systems into the IQ EV Charger 2.
Safety functionality includes:
Integrated RDC-DD residual current protection
Overvoltage protection
Overcurrent detection
Relay weld detection
PEN fault detection
Thermal protection
Temperature sensor
Humidity sensor
Tilt sensor
Ambient light sensor
The IQ EV Charger 2 features an IP55 and IK10-rated enclosure.
IP55 protection allows installation in suitable indoor and outdoor environments, while the IK10 mechanical rating provides a high level of impact resistance.
Its specified operating temperature range extends from -40°C to 55°C.
Enphase has designed the IQ EV Charger 2 to simplify installation and commissioning.
No additional mounting brackets or pre-wiring kits are required. Enphase states installation can take less than 10 minutes, with commissioning through the Enphase Installer App taking less than three minutes.
The enclosure also supports either bottom or rear service-cable entry, providing installers with greater flexibility.
Installers can perform remote troubleshooting through the Enphase Installer App, while the charger's service-panel design provides simplified physical access when maintenance is required.

5-year warranty
The five-year warranty is specified by Enphase for the IQ EV Charger 2.
The IQ EV Charger 2 is much more than a conventional home EV charger. Its biggest advantage is the ability to become part of an intelligent Enphase home energy ecosystem.
For a home equipped with Enphase solar, the charger can coordinate EV charging with available solar production, household electricity demand and electricity tariffs. Dynamic load balancing further helps manage the home's available electrical capacity without unnecessarily overloading the supply.
Combined with Enphase App control, integrated MID metering, extensive connectivity, OCPP support and a rugged IP55/IK10 enclosure, the IQ EV Charger 2 provides a sophisticated EV charging solution for homeowners looking to integrate their EV with their broader home energy system.
All our products are covered by the Manufacturer's Warranty, which guarantees that they will be free from defects in materials and workmanship under normal use and service. The specific terms and duration of the warranty may vary depending on the product and the manufacturer. Please refer to the product's documentation or contact our customer support team for detailed warranty information.
Warranty Claim Process
In the unfortunate event that you encounter a faulty product, we want to make the warranty claim process as seamless as possible for you. To initiate a warranty claim, please follow these steps:
If damage is confirmed to be from normal wear-and-tear, drops, unauthorized repairs, or other non-warranty factors, service and shipping fees will apply. In such cases, we will contact the customer for approval before proceeding with paid repairs.
Unfortunately we cannot provide loaner units during the warranty repair process. For mission-critical equipment, we highly recommend purchasing backup units to prevent downtime in case of defects.
You have 30 calendar days to return an item from the date you received it.
To be eligible for a return:
Upon receiving your order, we kindly request that you thoroughly inspect all packages within 7 days of delivery. This inspection period is crucial as it allows you ample time to identify any visible damage caused during transit.
