The Fox ESS CQ7-M is a high-performance 6.96kWh master battery designed for the Fox ESS CQ7 high-voltage energy storage platform. Combining the battery module and system controller into a single unit, the CQ7-M forms the foundation of every CQ7 battery installation.
Built around LFP (LiFePOβ) battery technology, the CQ7 platform delivers high efficiency, 100% depth of discharge and a highly scalable modular architecture. The system can be expanded with compatible CQ7-S battery modules to provide up to 97.44kWh of usable storage capacity, making it suitable for installations ranging from smaller residential systems through to substantial energy-storage requirements.
The CQ7-M provides more than battery capacity. It incorporates the controller required to operate the entire CQ7 battery stack, simplifying system design and providing a central master module for communication and battery management.
Each CQ7 installation uses one CQ7-M master module, with up to 13 CQ7-S expansion modules able to be added. This provides a maximum configuration of 14 modules in series.
The CQ7 platform uses 6.96kWh battery modules, providing substantial capacity from each addition to the battery stack. The modular architecture makes it possible to configure larger systems without requiring multiple completely separate battery systems.
One of the major advantages of the CQ7 platform is scalability. Compatible CQ7-S modules can be added to the CQ7-M master module, with the complete system supporting capacities up to 97.44kWh.
The CQ7 is specified with 100% depth of discharge, allowing the system's rated usable capacity to be utilised.
Fox ESS specifies battery pack round-trip efficiency of greater than 95% at 25Β°C with 0.3C charging/discharging, helping minimise energy losses during the charging and discharging cycle.
The CQ7 uses lithium iron phosphate (LiFePOβ/LFP) battery chemistry. The system is designed specifically as a high-voltage storage battery and supports a broad range of energy-storage applications.
Unlike the CQ7-S expansion module, the CQ7-M incorporates both the battery module and the controller for the complete battery system.
Every CQ7 system must therefore contain exactly one CQ7-M master module. The remaining modules in the stack are compatible CQ7-S expansion modules.
The CQ7 platform supports a maximum charge/discharge current of 80A, subject to factors including battery temperature, cell voltage and state of charge.
With an IP65 ingress-protection rating, the CQ7 is specified for indoor or outdoor installation on its stand.
The standard operating temperature range is:
Charge: 0Β°C to 55Β°C
Discharge: -10Β°C to 55Β°C
An optional warm-up version extends the specified operating range to -25Β°C to 55Β°C for both charging and discharging.
The CQ7 technical specifications state that the system includes a fire protection function, adding another layer to the battery system's protection architecture.
Fox ESS has designed the CQ7 around a modular, plug-and-play architecture. Battery modules are stacked together to create the required system capacity, helping reduce installation complexity and giving installers greater flexibility when specifying storage capacity.

The CQ7 platform can be configured from 13.92kWh through to 97.44kWh by combining one CQ7-M master module with the appropriate number of CQ7-S expansion modules. The largest configuration uses one CQ7-M plus 13 CQ7-S modules.
The CQ7's modular architecture provides flexibility when designing a battery system. A system can be configured around the required storage capacity while retaining the ability to use additional compatible CQ7-S modules within the supported configuration.
This makes the CQ7 particularly suitable for customers looking for a high-capacity Fox ESS battery platform that can accommodate larger energy-storage requirements.

The CQ7-M contains the system controller and battery module. Additional CQ7-S modules, inverter and other system components are not included unless specifically stated in the selected package.
Important: Every CQ7 battery system requires one CQ7-M master module and must contain only one master module. Fox ESS specifies a maximum of 13 CQ7-S expansion modules per system.
*Round-trip efficiency is specified by Fox ESS at 25Β°C and 0.3C charging/discharging. Actual system performance may vary according to installation and operating conditions.
All our products are covered by the Manufacturer's Warranty, which guarantees that they will be free from defects in materials and workmanship under normal use and service. The specific terms and duration of the warranty may vary depending on the product and the manufacturer. Please refer to the product's documentation or contact our customer support team for detailed warranty information.
Warranty Claim Process
In the unfortunate event that you encounter a faulty product, we want to make the warranty claim process as seamless as possible for you. To initiate a warranty claim, please follow these steps:
If damage is confirmed to be from normal wear-and-tear, drops, unauthorized repairs, or other non-warranty factors, service and shipping fees will apply. In such cases, we will contact the customer for approval before proceeding with paid repairs.
Unfortunately we cannot provide loaner units during the warranty repair process. For mission-critical equipment, we highly recommend purchasing backup units to prevent downtime in case of defects.
You have 30 calendar days to return an item from the date you received it.
To be eligible for a return:
Upon receiving your order, we kindly request that you thoroughly inspect all packages within 7 days of delivery. This inspection period is crucial as it allows you ample time to identify any visible damage caused during transit. Please keep in mind that promptly reporting any freight damage is vital in safeguarding your right to file a claim and ensuring a swift resolution.
