The Fox ESS CQ7-S is the 6.96kWh expansion battery module designed for the Fox ESS CQ7 high-voltage energy storage system. It is used alongside the CQ7-M master module to increase the total storage capacity of a CQ7 battery installation.
Each CQ7-S adds an additional 6.96kWh of battery capacity to the system. Up to 13 CQ7-S modules can be combined with one CQ7-M master module, providing a highly scalable storage platform with total system capacity reaching 97.44kWh.
The CQ7-S has been designed specifically as the expansion module within the CQ7 platform. While the CQ7-M incorporates the controller for the entire battery system, the CQ7-S provides additional battery capacity without an additional system controller.
Fox ESS specifies that each CQ7 system must contain exactly one CQ7-M master module, with up to 13 CQ7-S expansion modules.
This modular architecture makes it possible to configure the battery system according to the required energy-storage capacity while providing substantial room for larger installations.
Each CQ7-S contributes 6.96kWh to the CQ7 battery system.
The CQ7 range uses LFP (LiFePOβ) battery technology and provides 100% depth of discharge, allowing the system's rated usable capacity to be utilised.
The CQ7 platform supports a maximum of 14 battery modules connected in series.
A maximum-capacity system consists of:
1 Γ CQ7-M Master Module
13 Γ CQ7-S Expansion Modules
97.44kWh total usable capacity
This provides considerable flexibility when configuring the battery system for different storage requirements.
The CQ7-S uses lithium iron phosphate (LiFePOβ/LFP) battery chemistry. Fox ESS specifies battery pack round-trip efficiency of greater than 95% at 25Β°C and 0.3C charging/discharging.
LFP technology combined with the CQ7's high-voltage architecture provides a modern modular storage platform for compatible Fox ESS energy-storage installations.
Fox ESS specifies a 100% depth of discharge for the CQ7 platform. This means the system's specified nominal capacity is also listed as usable capacity across the CQ7 configurations shown in the manufacturer's datasheet.
The CQ7 system supports a maximum charge/discharge current of 80A.
Actual available current can be affected by operating conditions including battery temperature, cell voltage and state of charge.
The CQ7 is designed for indoor or outdoor installation on its compatible stand and carries an IP65 ingress-protection rating.
Standard operating temperature:
Charge: 0Β°C to 55Β°C
Discharge: -10Β°C to 55Β°C
Storage temperature:
-10Β°C to 50Β°C
The system uses natural convection cooling and is rated for installation at altitudes up to 3,000 metres.
The CQ7 specifications include a fire protection function as part of the system's protection design.
The CQ7 battery has been designed around a modular stacked architecture. Fox ESS describes the system as a plug-and-play solution intended to simplify installation and save installer time.
Additional CQ7-S modules are installed in series with the CQ7-M, allowing the battery stack to be configured according to the required capacity.

All our products are covered by the Manufacturer's Warranty, which guarantees that they will be free from defects in materials and workmanship under normal use and service. The specific terms and duration of the warranty may vary depending on the product and the manufacturer. Please refer to the product's documentation or contact our customer support team for detailed warranty information.
Warranty Claim Process
In the unfortunate event that you encounter a faulty product, we want to make the warranty claim process as seamless as possible for you. To initiate a warranty claim, please follow these steps:
If damage is confirmed to be from normal wear-and-tear, drops, unauthorized repairs, or other non-warranty factors, service and shipping fees will apply. In such cases, we will contact the customer for approval before proceeding with paid repairs.
Unfortunately we cannot provide loaner units during the warranty repair process. For mission-critical equipment, we highly recommend purchasing backup units to prevent downtime in case of defects.
You have 30 calendar days to return an item from the date you received it.
To be eligible for a return:
Upon receiving your order, we kindly request that you thoroughly inspect all packages within 7 days of delivery. This inspection period is crucial as it allows you ample time to identify any visible damage caused during transit. Please keep in mind that promptly reporting any freight damage is vital in safeguarding your right to file a claim and ensuring a swift resolution.
Should you identify any freight damage during the inspection, we urge you to notify us immediately. Our customer support team is ready to assist you through the claim filing process and provide the necessary guidance to ensure a smooth and hassle-free experience.
The advertised price for this product includes the applicable STC battery rebate, applied as a pre-discount at the time of purchase.
To be eligible for the battery rebate:
Supply-only purchases are not eligible for the battery rebate.
By proceeding with this purchase, the customer agrees to assign all eligible Small-scale Technology Certificates (STCs) associated with the battery installation to Solar Battery Supermarket (or its nominated agent).
This assignment allows the rebate to be applied as a point-of-sale discount.
