Two independent MPPTs provide greater flexibility when solar panels are installed across separate roof orientations or array sections.
Maximum supported PV generator capacity scales with inverter size:
Primo GEN24 5.0 β up to 7.5kWp
Primo GEN24 6.0 β up to 9kWp
Primo GEN24 8.0 β up to 12kWp
Primo GEN24 10.0 β up to 15kWp
All four models operate across a 65β600V DC input range and begin feeding power from an 80V input voltage.
Fronius Dynamic Peak Manager is designed to improve energy yield where PV modules experience partial shading. Rather than relying solely on a conventional maximum power point, the system searches for the optimum operating point of the array, helping the inverter make better use of available solar generation under changing conditions.Β
PV Point provides an integrated basic backup power option without requiring a battery as part of the standard GEN24 installation.
During a grid outage, PV Point can supply a dedicated backup circuit with up to 3,000VA when sufficient solar power is available. This provides a practical way to maintain selected essential loads during daylight hours without installing a complete household backup system.
The standard Primo GEN24 is primarily a PV inverter and does not include battery connectivity as standard.
For homeowners who want to add energy storage later, Fronius UP.storage provides an upgrade path that can enable battery connection and Full Backup functionality on eligible GEN24 systems. This allows the solar system to be installed first while retaining greater flexibility for future energy-storage requirements.
Alternatively, the Fronius Primo GEN24 Plus is supplied as the hybrid version with battery connectivity already enabled. Availability of UP.storage and compatible configurations can vary by market.
Fronius Active Cooling uses controlled air circulation to help protect electronic components against excessive temperatures.
By actively managing internal temperature, the cooling system supports performance under demanding conditions while reducing thermal stress on components, contributing to inverter durability and service life.
The Primo GEN24 operates across an ambient temperature range of -40Β°C to +60Β°C.
Open interfaces give installers and homeowners greater flexibility when building or expanding a solar energy system.
The GEN24 can integrate with compatible Fronius products as well as supported third-party components, helping accommodate applications such as energy management, metering, heating control and other smart-energy functions.
Integrated communication and monitoring capabilities include:
WLAN
2 Γ Ethernet LAN
2 Γ RS485

Modbus TCP SunSpec
Modbus RTU SunSpec
Fronius Solar API (JSON)
Integrated datalogger
Integrated web server
6 digital inputs
6 digital inputs/outputs
Integrated emergency shut-off (WSD)
These interfaces support detailed system monitoring while providing flexibility for energy management and compatible third-party integration.
The Primo GEN24 features an IP66 enclosure suitable for indoor and outdoor installation.
Integrated protection features include:
DC isolation measurement
Integrated DC disconnector
Reverse polarity protection
