Solar panels often produce their most electricity during the middle of the day, when household consumption may be relatively low.
With a compatible battery connected to the SOFAR HYD, excess solar energy can be stored for use later — helping you make better use of your solar generation instead of relying as heavily on grid electricity after the sun goes down.
The HYD supports both lithium-ion and lead-acid battery systems, subject to SOFAR's compatible battery list.
The HYD isn't just a solar inverter. It includes a dedicated backup output, allowing a properly designed system with compatible battery storage to supply selected loads when grid electricity is unavailable.
SOFAR specifies a 10ms default switching time, helping the system transition rapidly to backup operation.
For three-phase properties, another major advantage is the ability for the off-grid output to supply unbalanced loads, with three-phase separate output supported.
Different roof orientations shouldn't necessarily prevent you from getting the most from your available roof space.
The SOFAR HYD platform provides up to two MPPT trackers, giving installers greater flexibility when configuring solar arrays across different strings or roof orientations.
The inverter also provides a wide 180–960V MPPT operating range and up to 1000V maximum PV input voltage, providing substantial flexibility when designing larger PV systems.
The HYD Series allows substantial solar arrays to be paired with the inverter.

These recommended maximum PV capacities are specified in the supplied SOFAR datasheet.
This means customers can choose an inverter that better matches their property, from a smaller three-phase residential installation through to a large home or higher-demand solar and battery system.
The HYD Series achieves up to 98.2% maximum inverter efficiency and up to 99.9% MPPT efficiency, helping minimise conversion losses and make effective use of available solar generation.

SOFAR designed the HYD platform to support multiple parallel systems, providing greater flexibility when building larger energy-storage solutions. Selected models also support up to two battery inputs.
This makes the HYD particularly attractive for customers who want a system with room for future expansion rather than being locked into a basic solar-only inverter.
The HYD uses fully digital operation for greater control accuracy and provides multiple operating modes so the system can be configured around different energy requirements.
Communication options include CAN, RS485 and Wi-Fi, with optional 4G and LAN, while system information can be accessed through the LCD and app.
With an IP65-rated enclosure, wall-mounted design and operating temperature range from -30°C to +60°C, the HYD is designed for demanding installation environments. The inverter also incorporates a comprehensive range of electrical protection functions.

All our products are covered by the Manufacturer's Warranty, which guarantees that they will be free from defects in materials and workmanship under normal use and service. Warranty Claim Process
In the unfortunate event that you encounter a faulty product, we want to make the warranty claim process as seamless as possible for you. To initiate a warranty claim, please follow these steps:
If damage is confirmed to be from normal wear-and-tear, drops, unauthorized repairs, or other non-warranty factors, service and shipping fees will apply. In such cases, we will contact the customer for approval before proceeding with paid repairs.
Unfortunately we cannot provide loaner units during the warranty repair process. For mission-critical equipment, we highly recommend purchasing backup units to prevent downtime in case of defects.
You have 30 calendar days to return an item from the date you received it.
To be eligible for a return:
Upon receiving your order, we kindly request that you thoroughly inspect all packages within 7 days of delivery. This inspection period is crucial as it allows you ample time to identify any visible damage caused during transit. Please keep in mind that promptly reporting any freight damage is vital in safeguarding your right to file a claim and ensuring a swift resolution.
Should you identify any freight damage during the inspection, we urge you to notify us immediately. Our customer support team is ready to assist you through the claim filing process and provide the necessary guidance to ensure a smooth and hassle-free experience.
The advertised price for this product includes the applicable STC battery rebate, applied as a pre-discount at the time of purchase.
To be eligible for the battery rebate:
Supply-only purchases are not eligible for the battery rebate.
By proceeding with this purchase, the customer agrees to assign all eligible Small-scale Technology Certificates (STCs) associated with the battery installation to Solar Battery Supermarket (or its nominated agent).
This assignment allows the rebate to be applied as a point-of-sale discount.
If the customer does not agree to assign the STCs, the full non-rebated price of the battery system will apply.
Installation by a licensed and accredited installer is mandatory to qualify for the rebate-adjusted price.
Standard metro installation is available from $500, subject to property assessment.
Additional works (including switchboard upgrades, long cable runs, or non-standard installations) may incur extra charges and will be quoted and approved prior to installation.
