The SolaX X1-VAST-8K is a powerful 8kW single-phase residential hybrid inverter designed for larger homes with high solar generation, battery storage and backup power requirements.
With support for up to 16kWp of recommended PV capacity, four independent MPPT trackers, dual battery ports, 20A PV input per MPPT and <10ms EPS switchover, the X1-VAST-8K provides a highly flexible platform for advanced residential energy systems.
The X1-VAST platform is also designed for generator and microgrid integration and is V2G/V2H ready for future smart home energy applications.
The X1-VAST-8K provides 8kVA rated AC output with a rated output current of 34.8A.
It is designed for larger residential installations requiring substantially more power than a conventional 5kW hybrid inverter while retaining single-phase operation.
The 8kW X1-VAST supports a recommended maximum PV array of 16kWp, providing up to 200% PV oversizing.
This gives installers greater flexibility to build larger solar arrays for homes with high daytime consumption, battery storage, electric vehicles and other significant electrical loads.
A major advantage of the X1-VAST-8K is its four independent MPPT trackers.
Each MPPT supports its own PV string, providing excellent flexibility for homes with panels installed across multiple roof orientations.
PV input specifications include:
4 independent MPPT trackers
1 string per MPPT
20A maximum input current per MPPT
25A maximum short-circuit current per MPPT
600V maximum PV input voltage
360V rated PV input voltage
40β560V operating range
Low 50V startup voltage
Β
The X1-VAST incorporates two battery ports to provide greater flexibility when designing or expanding a home battery system.
Battery specifications include:
Lithium battery compatible
80β480V DC battery voltage range
Dual battery ports
25A per port when connected to two separate batteries
30A maximum when using a single battery port
Up to 50A when both ports connect to a single battery using the optional SolaX 2-in-1 splitter cable
Β
This dual-port architecture makes the X1-VAST particularly suitable for customers planning larger or expandable battery storage systems.
When paired with compatible battery storage, the X1-VAST-8K provides 8kVA rated EPS backup output.
The inverter can deliver up to twice its rated EPS power for 10 seconds, providing substantial short-duration capacity for appliances and equipment with high startup loads.
Backup features include:
8kVA rated EPS output
Up to 200% peak EPS output for 10 seconds
<10ms switchover
UPS-level backup transition
Whole-home load support
Β
The X1-VAST platform has been designed with future Vehicle-to-Home and Vehicle-to-Grid integration in mind.
SolaX identifies the X1-VAST as V2G/V2H ready for smart home energy integration.
This creates the potential for a future integrated SolaX ecosystem combining:
Solar PV β Home Battery β Home Loads β Compatible Bidirectional EV Charging
V2G/V2H functionality is marked in the SolaX datasheet as a feature to be upgraded in the future. Availability will depend on compatible EVs, charging equipment, firmware and local requirements.
The X1-VAST supports generator and microgrid integration, allowing it to form part of more resilient residential energy systems.
This makes it suitable for homes looking for greater energy independence or installations where backup generation may be incorporated alongside solar and battery storage.
The X1-VAST includes advanced energy-management functionality for controlling how solar generation, batteries and household energy are used.
Features include:
Smart Schedule
Smart Scene
24/7 Time-of-Use management
Wireless meter compatibility
Whole-home load support
VPP-ready architecture
OpenADR compatibility
IEEE 2030.5 compatibility
FCAS capability
API integration
Some advanced functions are identified by SolaX as future upgrades and may depend on firmware, market and system configuration.
The X1-VAST range achieves maximum inverter efficiency of up to 97.6%, helping maximise usable energy from the solar and battery system.
The X1-VAST features IP66 ingress protection for demanding installation environments.
Environmental specifications include:
IP66 protection
-35Β°C to +60Β°C operating temperature
Derating above 45Β°C
Maximum operating altitude of 3,000m
