The Sungrow SH5T is a 5kW three phase hybrid solar and battery inverter designed for residential solar storage systems requiring three-phase operation, battery integration and whole-home backup capability.
It combines 5kW rated AC output, up to 10kW PV input, dual MPPT solar tracking, high-voltage battery support, fast 50A battery charging and discharging, and a built-in 63A bypass for whole-home backup.
The SH5T combines solar generation, battery storage and backup functionality within one three-phase hybrid inverter.
Key AC specifications include:
5,000W rated AC output
5,000VA maximum apparent power
Three-phase grid connection
7.6A maximum AC output current
220/380V, 230/400V and 240/415V support
50Hz / 60Hz operation
ย
The Sungrow SH5T supports up to 10,000Wp maximum PV input, allowing the inverter to accommodate a substantially oversized solar array.
This provides greater flexibility when designing systems intended to maximise daytime solar generation and provide additional energy for battery charging.
PV specifications include:
10,000Wp maximum PV input
1,000V maximum PV voltage
150โ950V MPPT operating range
180V startup voltage
600V rated PV input voltage

The SH5T features two independent MPPT trackers, helping installers optimise solar production across different roof orientations or panel groups.
The SH5T configuration includes:
2 independent MPPTs
1 PV string per MPPT
16A maximum input current per MPPT
32A total maximum PV input current
20A short-circuit current per MPPT

50A maximum charging current
50A maximum discharging current
Up to 15,000W battery charging power
Up to 5,000W battery discharging power
Actual maximum battery current depends on the connected battery.
One of the key features of the SH5T platform is its integrated backup capability.
Sungrow specifies a built-in 63A bypass for whole-home backup and a seamless transition to backup operation in approximately 10 milliseconds.
Backup capabilities include:
Built-in 63A bypass
Whole-home backup capability
Less than 10ms backup switch time
5,000W / 5,000VA rated off-grid output
Up to 10,000VA peak output for 10 seconds
Three-phase backup output
Support for 100% unbalanced output
ย
The SH5T supports 100% unbalanced output in both on-grid and backup modes.
This is particularly useful in residential three-phase installations where household loads are not distributed evenly across all three phases.
The SH5T provides:
Maximum efficiency: 97.9%
European efficiency: 97.2%
ย
The SH5T incorporates multiple protection functions for solar, battery and grid operation.
These include:
Grid monitoring
DC reverse-polarity protection
AC short-circuit protection
Leakage-current protection
Integrated solar DC switch
DC Type II surge protection
AC Type II surge protection
PID Zero
Battery reverse-polarity protection
Precise AFCI support
ย
The SH5T provides multiple communication interfaces for system monitoring and battery integration:
WLAN
Ethernet
RS485
CAN
4 digital inputs
2 digital outputs
DRM0
ย
The SH5T uses natural convection cooling, helping reduce operating noise and eliminating the need for an active cooling fan under normal operation.
Sungrow specifies:
IP65 protection
C5 corrosion resistance classification
Natural convection cooling
Typical noise level of 35dB(A)
-25ยฐC to +60ยฐC operating temperature
0โ100% relative humidity range

All our products are covered by the Manufacturer's Warranty, which guarantees that they will be free from defects in materials and workmanship under normal use and service. The specific terms and duration of the warranty may vary depending on the product and the manufacturer. Please refer to the product's documentation or contact our customer support team for detailed warranty information.
Warranty Claim Process
In the unfortunate event that you encounter a faulty product, we want to make the warranty claim process as seamless as possible for you. To initiate a warranty claim, please follow these steps:
If damage is confirmed to be from normal wear-and-tear, drops, unauthorized repairs, or other non-warranty factors, service and shipping fees will apply. In such cases, we will contact the customer for approval before proceeding with paid repairs.
Unfortunately we cannot provide loaner units during the warranty repair process. For mission-critical equipment, we highly recommend purchasing backup units to prevent downtime in case of defects.
You have 30 calendar days to return an item from the date you received it.
To be eligible for a return:
